A little help, when you need it.
Let's get you
back in flow.
Questions, feedback or something not working as expected? Contact ClipSwitch support.
Include your macOS version, ClipSwitch version/build, what happened and what you expected.
Please keep private things private. Do not send passwords, payment details, a clipboard database or screenshots with personal copied content. A short description and redacted screenshot are usually a better starting point. Email is handled as described in the Privacy policy.
Where do I start?
Give explicit clipboard-recording consent in Settings and copy something new. Your configured shortcut opens the transient Clip Switcher by default. Search for a clipping, open Quick preview for a closer look, then choose Restore to clipboard. Paste in the destination using your operating system’s standard paste shortcut. ClipSwitch does not paste automatically.
What is the Main window for?
The persistent Main window gives you full control of your history: review and delete clippings, or organize them with Pro favorites and collections. The Clip Switcher is for quick finding and restoring; both interfaces share the same local history.
In Settings, choose which interface opens with your activation shortcut and reopening the app. The menu-bar Show ClipSwitch action always opens the Main window. Its sidebar starts expanded and remembers your collapse/expand choice. You can use the Main window without giving up the Clip Switcher.
Can the Switcher run horizontally?
Yes. Drag the Clip Switcher to the top or bottom edge for a horizontal mixed-content lane, or to the left or right edge for the vertical list. Search and Quick preview help you find the right clipping in either layout.
How much history is included?
Free keeps up to five clippings for up to seven days since their last copy or successful use. Search, Quick preview and supported clipboard types work in both interfaces. A one-time Pro purchase unlocks more history, flexible retention, favorites, collections and extra accent colors.
What about passwords?
Recognized passwords are ignored by default. Settings offers optional password saving and optional encryption of newly saved password payloads with an app-owned Keychain key. Masking alone is not encryption; other history and metadata are not encrypted. Filtering cannot detect every secret. See the Privacy policy before enabling these options.
ClipSwitch isn't recording
Check that recording is allowed and not paused, and that the source app is not excluded. macOS may have its own clipboard permission. A denied-access warning in the app opens System Settings with navigation guidance; the exact controls depend on your macOS version. After changing access, copy again. Unknown purchase access can also pause new recording while verification is unresolved.
Missing history or a file?
Retention, storage limits and confirmed Free access can remove history. ClipSwitch is not a backup and cannot promise recovery. File entries are references, not preserved file copies; renamed, deleted, offline or unavailable originals may not restore. Keep important originals and independent backups. See Terms & data-loss notice.
Purchased Pro before?
Use Restore Purchases in Settings. Apple may ask you to sign in. Product availability, purchase records and refunds are handled through Apple; do not email us Apple account credentials or payment-card information. The app displays the current product offer when available.
